Clark County Closes Additional Public Sporting Facilities Due to Coronavirus Concerns

The coronavirus has basically shut down the world as we’ve been living it through the years. Will there be a return to normalcy once there is a vaccine or a cure? We;ll see.

Until further notice, Clark County is announcing the additional closing of disk golf courses, tennis courts, pickleball courts, skate parks, bocce courts, horseshoe pits, handball courts, park exercise equipment, Mountains Edge Regional Park Sports Wall and The Club at Sunrise golf course due to the Governor’s Emergency Directive No. 13 issued Wednesday concerning the coronavirus.

Prior to Wednesday’s directive, closed amenities included playgrounds, restrooms, dog parks, basketball courts, baseball/softball fields, volleyball courts, swimming pools and splash pads.

At this time, outdoor park spaces and trails will remain open to the public, although any visitors are strongly encouraged to follow health officials’ recommendations regarding social distancing and other precautions  https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prepare/prevention.html.

Clark County operates 100 public parks and 63 recreation centers. A complete list of addresses and locations is listed on the Parks and Recreation Department’s website at: www.clarkcountynv.gov/parks.
